Trade it in on a Ninja 250.

You won't get your money's worth trying to hop up a rebel.

I agree with John... the amount you put into the Rebel just to squeeze a bit more power out of it, isn't worth it. If I were you, I would look for a good, used Magna V45 or V65.... they can be had easily for under $3k, and likely under $2k.

Dude:

In the words of a member on another forum, there is only one way to get more power out of a Rebel 250:

Use it for a trade-in.

There is nothing out there.

It's a 233cc, 17 hp engine. There are Lawnmowers that make more power.

All power is gained in percentages. As a general rule of thumb for hotrodding bikes, one grand equals 6%.

So you dump a grand into your Rebel and you "gain" an additional 6 percent of your original 17 horsepower....

And that's pretty much why nobody makes anything. There's not even enough exhaust pressure at 233cc to go turbo.

You want more power, use it as a trade-in.

All I wanted to know is if there was any resorces for high proformance parts and that is it. if there is nothing offered than fine.

Nope.

There's nothing out there.

Search around here for a member named Are.

He hand-fabbed a dual-carb set-up, but when faced with the miniscule volume of air that this little engine moves, he ended up re-jetting them so restrictive as to have gained little more than a conversation piece.

At last report, he's still having trouble with the set-up.

Fantastic job, though. Definately worth a look.

Welcome Rebel xx........In agreement with the others here. The 250 Reb is an EXCELLENT bike as is, but people regularly are looking for ways to pull more power outta 'em. The unfortunate reality is that there's simply no aftermarket performance goodies for it aside from exhaust pipes & adapting a more free-flowing air filter. Pipe/air filter mods are the most common....attaining a better sound, letting the bike breathe better, but any power gains are fairly insignificant.

Gene (genejohnson) & his son are experimenting with deeper mods on an '85 250 Reb to see what they can get out of this motor & they're also aiming for using it on an actual track for competition. Gene might have some ideas, but I'm also not sure what year your Reb is. If it's a newer one, you might not wanna alter it too much for normal riding applications.....
