Hey,
This is my first post......I have a 2002 Honda Rebel...that I bought and rode last summer. The bike sat all winter and spring....and now it won't start! I know the battery needs to be replaced....but, my X-boyfriend took the Carburetor a part to clean it and now I don't know how to either clean it or get the thing back together....where can I pick up a free manual to do this?? Thank you in advance!!

Mornin' Kristi Maria......
Depending on the age of the battery, it may or may not be able to be topped off with distilled water & recharged.
As far as "free" manual ? If you've got a cool indie shop in your area, some of those cats "might" be cool enough to lend you one, which they should have on hand, or you can outright buy one either from the indie shop or get a Clymer's manual off of eBay.
There's different methods of cleaning carbs.....one being good old spray-type Carb Cleaner in a can for the hard parts (anything metal) but PLEASE keep any carb cleaner away from any rubber/neoprene parts as the carb cleaner would melt 'em. Other methods include soaking the hard parts in a dipping pan with basket & handle that holds the hard parts, but the same caution in regards to rubber/neoprene parts applies.
For cleaning the tiny passageways & jets, you can either use a stiff bristle from a wire brush, a thin gauge piece of wire that's just large enough to fit into the passageway or if using the spray type carb cleaner, aiming the plastic extension from the carb cleaner nozzle directly into the passageway & making sure that the spray comes out the opposite end of whatever part you're cleaning. IMPORTANT: For safety, you'd want to wear protective eye wear as sometimes that spray can ricochet off the part & you DO NOT want that stuff getting in your eyes.
One more thing, if you're a little short on cash....I don't know about all of 'em, but our public library has just about all the shop manuals. As all libraries, you can check 'em out for, like, 2 weeks at a time for free.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!! No doubt.......Or one could buy the heavy-duty Carb Cleaner in a can that comes with it's own dipping tray & has methylene chloride (outlawed in the State of California) as an ingredient. Works GREAT, but'll probably kill anything close enough to breathe the fumes too long........LMAO!

Ahhhh... a few dead brain cells done never hurt nobody, GJ... now, what were we talkin' about again???
My wife asked me to lose some weight...so I shed a bunch of brain cells. Really takes the guesswork out of voting, and judging speed coming into curves, too.

Yep....I can see that maybe the 3 of us have done our share of shedding brain cells.....Not brag, but more to my embarrassment, used to do 1/5th of Jack Daniels in one night (not every night mind you, only on party nights ;) )....the hangovers were killer.....thankfully lived thru it, don't miss it......
Now it's 2 wheels & a motor.....Ride Safe...
