Head Shaving

I was wondering if taking about .020 - .030 off the head of a 86 250 for a little more compression could be absorbed by the cam chain adjuster? Anyone have any thoughts? Also, anybody know if any place offers any cam grinds other than stock? Gene

Even shaving .010 off the head can make a difference and I'm certainly no expert on Japanese bikes with overhead cams, but I'd think the cam chain adjuster should be able to manage .020 or .030......030 is fairly narrow off the top and the cam chain has much more slack distance up & down that has to be adjusted for normally anyways.

You might inquire with some local indie shops to see if they know of any machine shops in your area that can do the cam grinds for ya.....
