Soooo, it's been awhile. But, I'm back to workin' on my 450. The latest mod I've done is a little hacking on my upper triplle tree. I'm going to move my ignition off the front of the bike, and don't love the look of the divot that's left when it's not there. I'm going to fill it with JB Weld and paint it black. But before I can do that, I needed to get rid of some extra pieces. All the cutting was done with a hack saw, and then cleaned up with files and sandpaper. In the end, I'd like the right side to mirror the left.

Forgot to take an original shot before I got started, but this piece went here:

The first cut:

I also cut off the stock seat bracket. The hacksaw bit it up a little more than I would have liked, but with a little more clean-up it'll look okay. Plus, the new seat bracket will cover most of it:

Nice work on that tree....With that kinda attention to detail I'm sure you'll have the seat area just as clean...

Looks great, HotShott! And I dig that you did it the Old School way....hacksaw & files. Takes patience, determination & dedication.....all good things.

For years & years my building methods were (and many still are) downright primitive by today's standards, but no complaints here.

It was literally within the past few years that I sprung for a sawzall & then received an angle grinder as a gift from my son. It was like "Welcome to the 20th Century!".....or is this the 21st ? Lost count.....hehehe....

But you done did it! Hacksaw, files & sandpaper ? Right on, Brother!

Ride Safe.....
